Final Fantasy VII is widely considered to be one of the biggest videogames of all time. Despite being freed in 1997, fans of the game still find themselves principally attached to it. It seems like with each new generation of consoles comes a cry for Final Fantasy VII to be remade. What was it that has made this game so popular? In my sentiment there are two reasons. The original being the complexity of the storyline which contained eco terrorism, international corporatocracy, an alien threat, a love triangle and perchance the most unforgettable villain in videogame history – Sephiroth. This brings me to the second reason, Final Fantasy VII had a fantastic cast of villains which helped the player get behind the good guys. After Sephiroth had killed President Shinra he begun a question to reunite all the elements of Jenova which had separated. At this point Jenova was in total control of Sephiroth who was plainly doing his “mother’s” bidding. Of course at the end of the game good was capable to triumph over evil and Sephiroth and Jenova were defeated, but were they killed? Judging on Advent Children, a movie follow-up to FFVII, Jenova is still very much alive and has the capability to fetch Sephiroth back to life.
